How to appoint a custodian
To appoint a custodian, send us the Custodianship Declaration form (PDF, 1.02 MB), along with the minor child’s study permit application.
The two pages of the form look similar, but
- the first page needs to be signed by the custodian and notarized (certified by a lawyer or notary) in Canada
- the second page needs to be signed by the parents or legal guardians of the minor child and notarized in their home country

Applying for a study permit for a minor
Generally, suppose you’re applying for a study permit for a minor (even at the primary or secondary school level). In that case, you need to provide a letter of acceptance from the educational institution in Canada that the child is going to. You may provide either the original letter of acceptance or an electronic version.
Minor children don’t need a study permit for six months or fewer programs but may apply for one before entering Canada.
Minor children who want to study for six months or more must apply for a study permit before they enter Canada.
Applicants Outside of Canada
Minor children who want to study in Canada must apply for a study permit before they enter Canada. This includes little children who come with parents who already have a valid study or work permit.
Minors coming to Canada with parents with valid studies or work permits don’t need to provide a letter of acceptance from a school when applying for a study permit.
EDUCATION FOR MINORS IN CANADA
Admissibility: The age of child has to be between 4 to 17 years, and they can continue
Education up to the university level and proceed beyond if interested.
Language: IELTS or any other English Language Qualifications are not required.
School Fees Payable: Within Two weeks (14 days) after the approval of the visa. In all
other Colleges, the Applicant must pay college fees before the issue of the Letter
of Acceptance. We negotiated with the college to obtain this facility, especially for
our parents in Sri Lanka.
Parents: Both parents will receive an invitation from the college to accompany the child or
children to Canada. No other school or college in Canada has extended this
facility to parents in Sri Lanka, though they were extending it to parents in other
countries. It is another remarkable achievement of our negotiations with the
college. In UK and Australia, only a single parent can accompany the child.
Custodians: Canadian Government regulations stipulate that without an appointment of a
custodian, visas are not granted for foreign minor children to study in Canada.
Usually, a custodian fee is CAD 3,000.00, and only after custodian fee payment
papers are sent to submit with the visa application. We successfully negotiated
And the college agreed to charge only CAD 150.00 to issue official
custodian papers, and we decided to pay only the custodian’s notarial fee of Rs.
35,000.00
Visas: Your visa consultations and presentation of visa documents are handled by
prominent and famous immigration lawyers in Canada. Anyway, you are given the
option of selecting your lawyer to represent your application. The child is
entitled to a yearly renewable visa up to university education; if interested, he can
go beyond that. Parents who were successful in the past received 10-year
multiple-visa.
Settlement Options: Parents Can appoint guardians for Minor children and should go back to
their home country, OR Parents can find Employment & convert their status into
work permits. Once parents get a work permit, the child’s education becomes

Financial Support: Concerning the availability of funds, income, and payment of income tax

School Terms: There is no specific term for opening days as this is primary education. Fees
details of the school are available on request.
Application Procedure: To submit the schooling application, the parents must bring a letter
from the school’s principal certifying that the child is studying in that school and in
that class. Along with that letter, it is necessary to bring the passport of the child
as well as both parents.
Total Fees: 1. College Application fee CAD$ 635. Paid after the receipt of the offer letter
- Annual College Fee CAD$ 12,000. Shall be paid after the visa approval
- Custodian Papers Attorney fee Rs. 35,000.00 paid here. Please note that Visas
are not granted without custodian documents.
